Right on the money. I wish officers would watch this so they wouldn't treat victims like criminals.

This is probably the most informative video/workshop I have watched and listened to. Shared it with my therapist colleagues. You do such a good job explaining the neurobiology of trauma and sexual assault.

Thanks for sharing this type of insightful material. Not too long ago I often found myself in debates surrounding Christine Blasey Ford (Kavanaugh accuser) and trying to explain that normal folks like us cannot intuitively rationalize a teenage girls response to traumatic events.

This is REALLY great information and so well-delivered. I'm so happy to have come across this in these times with Ford and Kavanaugh in the news, and a lot of people coming forward on social media around #whyididntreportit and share your incredible training right now. Thank you Jim Hopper I have been such a studious and incredibly smart person in my life, personally, and when I was sexually assaulted followed by a series of more sexual assault and abuse, I felt and still feel sometimes that my brain suffered an injury and it takes just regular filtered information such as this to really heal my capacity for growth and vitality again. My cortex loves this stuff! It's really interesting because I feel myself coming to understanding faster than other parts of my neurobiology are healing. I'm interested in finding out if you're doing any more studies.

Thank you for this video and your work. I write in my blog about being dismissed by the police department in my small town when I reported my rape in 2010. I've created a petition recently to push the department to train their staff in trauma and provide better support for survivors, and the type of training you do is exactly what I want the department to have. (It's at bit.ly/supportforsurvivors, if anyone reading this is interested in signing it.) Thanks for sharing this material and making it available publicly.

Thank you so much for this! Too much ignorant ambiguity out there about CSA, SA, DV victims and how they "should" behave
